Durham have made Scotland defender Kathryn Hill their second signing and she joins the club having spent the last two years at Old Dominion University in the USA, where she captained her side last season.
The Wildcats say that the versatile Scot, who can play at full-back and in midfield, has previously been called-up to senior international squads and was a regular at U-19 level.
Domestically, Hill spent over five years playing for Rangers in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.
Hill joins the club as part of the link with Durham University, where she will study for a Masters Degree in Education alongside playing for the FA WSL side and BUCS team.
She becomes the second player to join the Wildcats for 2017/18, after the addition of Abi Cottam earlier this week.
Hill told durham.fawsl.com: “It’s really good to be here. We’ve got an exciting season ahead and I can’t wait to get started.
“Education is something I’ve always felt is important and to be able to do that as well as playing in the Women’s Super League is great.”
Manager Lee Sanders was pleased to capture the signature of Hill, saying: “I’m really happy to have Kathryn on board for next season.
“She’s another player who has come over after a spell in America and joins us after being highly-recommended by her coach at Old Dominion who was involved in the national set-up in Scotland.
“After having her here for a short while I can understand why she came highly-recommended – she’s a competitive individual and wants to win, which is what we want at the football club.”
