Jayne Ludlow has this week received an honorary fellowship from the University of South Wales for services to women’s football in Wales.
On receiving the fellowship, Ludlow told faw.cymru that she was thrilled when she was informed. “It was a real surprise, it’s all been a bit surreal. The ceremony went very well, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it’s great to see such strong support from USW to women’s football and our national team.”
USW Vice-Chancellor Professor Julie Lydon presented Ludlow with the award and echoed the Wales manager’s comments. ““Jayne’s tireless work as the national football team manager, and her efforts to promote the development of the game, are an inspiration for thousands, and will doubtlessly lead more girls into the sport.
“We are looking forward to working with her on further developing sports coaching among females, and seeking her views on how USW can continue to improve the sports courses we offer to thousands of undergraduates.”
