Japan Women’s captain Saki Kumagai joins London City Lionesses

Japan national team captain Saki Kumagai has joined London City Lionesses from AS Roma for an undisclosed fee.

She has over 150 caps for Japan, a World Cup winners medal, five Champions League titles and seven top-flight successes in France and Germany.

Kumagai told londoncitylionesses.com: “I’m happy to be a part of this team and I can’t wait to get started at the stadium.”

Director of Football Ronald Thomson stated: “We are pleased to have such an exciting and talented player in the building, she will be a huge asset to our squad.”
