New manager James Fishlock will lead the Cardiff City Ladies coaching team next season, assisted by Charlotte Preen and Jess Walkley.

Fishlock – a UEFA B licence coach – joins the FA WNL Southern Premier Division side having previously been with Cyncoed in the Welsh Premier, while both Preen and Walkley work at the Gwent Girls’ Performance Centre.

Club Chair Michele Adams told cardiffcitylfc.com: “We are so pleased to be able to announce this very talented and ambitious coaching team. Both James and Charlotte have a past history with the club as James’ sister Jessica played for the club for several years. Charlotte started as a youngster rising through our junior ranks into the senior squad and both recognise and endorse the club’s values and ethos on and off the pitch.”

James Fishlock said: “Firstly, it’s great to be back at the club and I am extremely happy and honoured to be given the opportunity to manage what I believe is the best club in Wales. When I got the call from Michele who laid out the club’s vision and plans for the future, it was a very easy decision for me. Working with Charlotte, Jess and the players is something I’m really looking forward to and I’m convinced we will be able to build on the good work that Lauren [Smith] and James [Thomas] did over the last two seasons”.
