Midfielder Izzy Christiansen has followed in the footsteps of England and former Manchester City teammate Lucy Bronze, in signing for European champions Lyon.

Christiansen made 110 appearances for Manchester City, scoring 32 goals, was the 2016 PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year and was also named in the PFA WSL Team of the Year.

She told Lyon’s website: “I can not wait to start with my new team. It is a great club, champions of France and Europe.

“I am very happy to meet her here. I come to OL to win titles, progress, and have fun.”

There will be a swift re-union for her this week, as Lyon compete in the International Champions Cup in Miami along side Manchester City, PSG and North Carolina Courage.
