Spain’s Redondo gave them the lead over Belgium in Lorca but Janice Cayman equalised with a minute to go.
Portugal and Ukraine finished level at 1-1 in Abrentes, Diana Costa breaking the deadlock midway through the second half, only for Carole Costa to concede an own-goal 9 minutes later.
Canada played out a goalless draw with Switzerland in Rota (Spain), while Sweden claimed a 4-0 victory over South Africa in Cape Town, Olivia Schough finding the net twice, Mimmi Larsson and Mia Carlsson once each.
Scotland went down 3-1 to Norway in their friendly at La Manga in Spain, Caroline Weir scoring a penalty and also having a goal ruled out.
Youth internationals
England U-19 side lost their first game at the Algarve Tournament in Portugal, going down 3-2 to Norway at the Stadium Vila Real de Sant Antonio.
Republic of Ireland U-19s took a 20th-minute lead through Alannah McEvoy away to Italy in Rome but found themselves 3-1 down by half-time, which was the final score.
Northern Ireland U-17s went down by a similar score in the Canary Islands where Lara Gonzalez, Carolina Bravo and Paloma Rojo were on target for the hosts, Toni-Leigh Finnegan pulling one back late on.
Spain U-17’s had a 3-0 win over Slovakia, with an Ana Elexpuru effort added to by a Carlota Sanchez double.
