Hibernian came from behind to defeat ten-player Celtic 3-1 at Easter Road last night and move within two points of SWPL 1 leaders Glasgow City, whom they meet next month.
Celtic had taken a 21st-minute lead when Kirsty Howat found Ruesha Littlejohn, who lifted the ball over keeper Jenna Fife.
But it took just 5 minutes from the hosts to get back on level terms, Katey Turner with space in the box to drive a low shot under goalkeeper Zoe Cunningham.
Fife kept the hosts level into the interval after turning a Christina Whyte shot onto the bar, with Howat’s follow-up also saved.
A turning point came on 66 minutes when Celtic were down to ten players with Littlejohn shown a second yellow card for dissent.
Within 5 minutes Hibs were ahead, Abi Harrison getting in behind the defence to slot past Cunningham.
The victory was sealed in the dying minutes, Harrison doubling her tally when ghosting into the Celtic box and smashing her shot into the back of the net.
