Glasgow City’s Hayley Lauder has extended her contract with the SBS Scottish Women’s Premier League champions until the end of season 2023.

The Scotland international midfielder joined the club in 2014 from Swedish side Vittsjö and has been integral to the club’s record breaking success over recent years.

Playing in two UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarter Finals and lifting five SWPL titles, Lauder has been at the heart of City’s biggest moments and is delighted to have put pen to paper to continue her journey with the club.

Lauder said: “I am very excited to be committing my future to City. The team has been at the forefront for many years and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved as a club. It’s been an incredible six years and I can’t wait to continue.”

Head Coach Scott Booth said: “Hayley joined the club not long before I arrived and has been a hugely important player for me in my time here. She is an incredibly talented footballer, that is evident in her achievements with ourselves but also with the Scottish women’s national team where she has over 100 caps and has played in both the FIFA World Cup and European Championship Finals.

“I am absolutely thrilled she has cemented her future with the club. She is a leader, she embodies everything that I want a City player to be. She drives standards for both herself and others and I look forward to continuing to work with her for many years ahead.”
