Golden Girls Get Former Eagle

Watford have signed defender Sarah Jones, who makes the move into WSL 2 from Premier League Crystal Palace.

Jones has played for a number of other FAWPL clubs, including Cambridge United, Charlton Athletic, Gillingham and Millwall Lionesses.

Head Coach Keith Boanas was delighted to add an experienced defensive player to his squad, and is looking forward to working with a player that he has coached previously.

“I have known Sarah for over nine years and she played previously for both myself and Alberto, she’s a reliable and resolute central defender, with bags of experience and leadership skills,” he explained, speaking exclusively to watford.fawsl.com.

“The experience Sarah has gained gives her qualities that coincide with her experience in the game. She reads the game well, is determined in one-v-one duels both on the ground and in the air. Another important aspect is her good passing vision, and she’ll also be a goal threat in the air from set pieces for us.”
