The reigning SWPL champions’ new 26-year-old signing captained the successful British Universities side at the World University games in Chinese Taipei last August.
The defender, who can also play in midfield, moved to Verona in the summer after a number of seasons with FA WSL side Sunderland. Hill started all domestic matches for the Italian side, before departing to make the move to City.
Commenting on joining City, Hill told glasgowcityfc.co.uk: “I’m delighted to now be a Glasgow City player! The club has a successful history of competing at the top level both domestically and in Europe, and I’m really happy to have signed for an organisation that has a professional attitude on and off the pitch, and ambitious plans which match my own. I’m looking forward to getting the season underway and having my attributes as a player add something positive to what already is a strong Glasgow City side.”
Glasgow City Head Coach Scott Booth added, “We are delighted to announce the signing of Maddie Hill. She will be a valuable asset for us this season because she can play in a number of positions. Her technical ability for someone so tall is excellent so she will fit into the Glasgow City style well.”
