Four players hit hat-tricks as Northern Ireland’s Sports Direct Women’s Premiership returned from its short summer break. 

Cliftonville duo Danielle Maxwell and Marissa Callaghan will have to share the match ball after hitting three goals apiece as the Reds strolled to a comfortable 8-1 win over Derry City.

Joely Andrews hit three goals in less than a quarter-of-an-hour in Glentoran’s 5-0 victory over Mid Ulster.

Larne’s Erin Montgomery marked her debut with a treble as the 19-year-old’s side edged Lisburn Ladies in a five-goas thriller.

Darcie McNeill hit both goals as Crusaders Strikers got the better of Linfield, while Sion Swifts hit four goals without reply past Ballymena United.
