Former Arsenal Women’s keeper joins Atlético Madrid

Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, who recently left Arsenal Women after a two-year spell, has signed a deal to play for Atlético de Madrid until 2022.

The 28-year-old French international goalkeeper, a UEFA Women’s Champions League winner, joins the Spanish Primera Division runners-up who have qualified for next season’s UWCL.

She told atleticodemadrid.com: “Proud to belong to one of the best teams in Europe, which has a very important history in both the men’s and women’s sections. I want to be part of the future of this club and contribute my experience, work and professionalism.”

Peyraud-Magnin: “In England, passion for football isn’t a gender issue, it’s part of the English DNA.”
