The BBC has announced a five-player shortlist for its 2023 Women’s Footballer of the Year award, for which voting is now open.
The five contenders for the BBC World Service accolade were decided upon by a panel of coaches, players, administrators and journalists.
The shortlist:
- Aitana Bonmati – Spain and Barcelona
- Mary Earps – England and Manchester United
- Sam Kerr – Australia and Chelsea
- Alexandra Popp – Germany and Wolfsburg
- Fridolina Rolfö – Sweden and Barcelona
Voting closes at 9am on Friday 3 November, with the winner to be announced on Tuesday 28 November on BBC World Service and the BBC Sport website.
