The New Saints won the Genero Adran Trophy final for the first time with a 3-1 victory over Swansea City, in front of a crowd of 658 at Newtown FC.

The Swans’ difficult first half saw them go behind after only 75 seconds, Chantelle Teare gifted a tap-in when intercepting a Charlotte Williams pass across her own six-yard line.

When the same player lost the ball out wide, TNS worked the ball to the edge of the area, from where Lexi Jones finished well into the corner of the net.

From a dangerous Olivia Buckland cross, City defender Lauren Davies could not help volleying the ball into her own net.

Swansea got a goal back when an attempted clearance by Rebecca Elliott was headed back by Robyn Pinder, hitting the post and going along the line but just spinning over before it could be cleared.

TNS survived a few other scares at the back, City also went close with a couple of efforts but could not quite get themselves back in the match.
