Cascade knock Cardiff Met out of Genero Adran Trophy

Second-tier side Cascade knocked top-flight Cardiff Met out of the Genero Adran Trophy, holders Cardiff City had a narrow win at Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Chrystalla Moreton’s goal ten minutes from the break saw Cascade eliminate Cardiff Met and make it into the last eight.

Laura Curnock and Nieve Jenkins had Cardiff City two goals to the good but the latter was sent off midway through the second half. Connah’s Quay coach Leighton Summer was shown a red card in stoppage time, Anna Marsh then getting a late consolation for the Nomads.

Barry had to come from behind with ten players to see off lower-division Flint, after losing Lauren Harris to a second caution on 25 minutes with Jennifer Haynes scoring for the visitors. Erin Murray twice levelled with Rosie Hughes netting in-between, late goals by Jasmine Turner and Ellie Preece seeing the home side through.

Jade Crofts got Cwmbran back on level terms against Wrexham after Olivia Fuller’s opener, Amber Lightfoot, Abbie Ibbenden and Lili-Mai Jones then all finding the target for the Reds.

Lleucu Mathias bagged a brace as Aberystwyth Town made it past Llandudno.

Swansea City scored three goals in the last 20 minutes against Llanfair, adding to Aimee Deacon’s early effort.

Maia Owen’s early goal and an Alison Witts penalty had Briton Ferry on top, Casey Daniels replied for Penybont but subs Lucy Powell and Aimee Heath scored to secure Llansawel’s quarter-final berth.

Chantelle Teare restored The New Saints’ lead at Caldicot before the break with the first of her hat-trick, the underdogs having equalised through Rianne Jones.

The quarter-final draw will be broadcast on RedWall+ at 8pm on Tuesday 12 November.
