Switzerland won 2-1 away to Italy in a FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying group top-two clash.
Group B – Scotland 1-1 Ukraine
Scotland had to settle for a point at home to Ukraine, Abi Harrison eventually equalising in stoppage-time following Daryna Kravchuk’s 22nd-minute opener. Leaders Spain host Scotland on Tuesday.
Group C – Cyprus 1-1 Belarus, Czech Republic P-P Netherlands
Cyprus banked a first point after equalising against Belarus but Czech Republic and the Netherlands had their match put back to Saturday due to heavy snowfall.
Group E – Malta 0-2 Montenegro
Montenegro scored in either half away to Malta but sit six points behind leading pair Denmark and Russia.
Group G – Croatia 0-0 Lithuania, Italy 1-2 Switzerland, Romania 3-0 Moldova
Switzerland were two up in 20 minutes away to Italy through Coumba Gow and Ana-Maria Crnogorčević. Barbara Bonansea replied on the hour mark but the Swiss held out to become the first to take points off Italy, whilst recording a fifth win in a row.
Romania made it three wins from four but had to wait until after the interval for their goals against Moldova, while Croatia and Lithuania’s goalless draw meant a first point for each side.
Group H – Germany 8-0 Turkey
Germany went back to the top of their group with a convincing win over Turkey. Kezban Tağ conceded a first-minute own-goal, Lea Schüller scored a quickfire brace inside the first dozen minutes. She completed her hat-trick as Germany netted five times in the last half-hour.
Group I – France 6-0 Kazakhstan, Slovenia 6-0 Estonia, Wales 5-0 Greece
France continued their perfect form as they netted two early goals on the way to a 6-0 defeat of Kazakhstan. Everton’s Valérie Gauvin converted a second-half penalty and Toffees teammate Kenza Dali was also on target two minutes later.
Ceri Holland bagged a brace in a 5-0 win for Wales against Greece,
