Arsenal rescued their unbeaten start in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with a late leveller away to Spurs.
Tottenham’s Tinja-Riikka Korpela was forced into a first-minute block by Beth Mead, as the hosts battled to hold the Gunners to a goalless first half.
Vivianne Miedema also brought a save out of the Finnish keeper, who might have got a touch on a Mead free kick which hit the woodwork.
Katie McCabe rifled a shot against the crossbar and early in the second half, Korpela denied Mead from close range and got down to keep out a Frida Maanum effort.
It was on 65 minutes that the breakthrough was made but by Spurs. Kit Graham and Rachel Williams had shots parried by Manuela Zinsberger but Williams followed up to bundle the loose ball home.
Ashleigh Neville should have made it 2-0 but put the ball over the top after Shelina Zadorsky’s drive was parried.
Kyah Simon went close for Spurs with a half-volley but in stoppage-time Miedema dramatically headed home the equaliser from a corner.
