Chelsea’s Millie Bright has been voted Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month for November, Everton’s Willie Kirk claimed the Managers’ award.
Centre-back Bright, who got her name on the scoresheet for the first time this season at Birmingham City, told chelseafc.com: ‘It’s a big honour, I’m really proud and with all the names that were also in the draw, I really didn’t expect it.
‘It’s for the club, I never take it as individual, the way I have been playing is because of my team-mates and the coaching. The award is definitely for the girls and the staff that allow us to play the way we do, so thank you to them.’
Willie Kirk won the Barclays FA WSL Manager of the Month after steering Everton to maximum points during November, featuring a memorable 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Kirk highlighted the collective effort within the group as a contributing factor behind the team’s early-season form.
“We have got a lot of expertise in the backroom staff and I try to give them accountability and responsibility to do what they are good at,” Kirk told evertonfc.com. “The backroom staff help to make sure everyone is together and it is a very well-oiled machine.
“I’ve been vocal since the start of the season that we want to finish in the top half. That’s still the case and we have put ourselves in a very good position to do that. We’ve given ourselves a great position to build on in the second half of the season.”
