Brighton & Hove Albion boss Hope Powell has won the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award for February.
Powell guided Albion as they inflicted Chelsea’s first defeat in 33 games, as well as wins over Spurs and West Ham.
Talking to brightonandhovealbion.com, the third-time MOTM-winner said, “Compared to the other awards it feels quite special because it included a standout against Chelsea, who hadn’t lost for nearly two years.
“Losing to Bristol City at the end of January was a real low point but we have been really good since then. Everyone has played a massive part – it’s not just about me – and I have to say the players have been fantastic, they are the ones who have gone out there and performed and played beyond recognition compared to the start of the year.
“I’m very honoured to win this award on behalf of everyone at the club and hopefully we can keep the winning run going.”
