Doncaster’s Isabell Whittle scored twice to put her team ahead against Barnsley but the visitors levelled through Sophie Bell to force the extra half-hour, in which Mollie Crump got the only goal.
Morecambe won by the best of seven goals at home to Sheffield FC, who lost three players through injury and finished with only ten. Lisa Giampalma only lasted 10 minutes, Elizabeth Hobson went off after colliding with the post and Megan Clarkson sustained a dislocated shoulder with the score at 3-3.
A Toni-Anne Wayne double helped Ipswich into a four-goal lead over C&K Basildon, who pulled a couple of late goals back.
Gillingham’s 4-0 half-time advantage over Luton strongly suggested the Hatters would not be causing an upset but they did have a very impressive second period, scoring four times themselves before bowing out by the odd goal in nine.
Maidenhead’s match with Denham was switched to Middlesex due to a waterlogged pitch but it was the Magpies who won through 4-2 on penalties, after it was 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
Chester le Street won away to Long Eaton, just the one goal scored in two hours of football, whereas Sporting Khalsa were the victors of the goal-fest at Steel City, going through 6-4.
Keynsham’s Kerry Bartlett scored four in the 7-1 scoreline against Southampton Saints, to set up a 2nd Round tie with Portsmouth.
Chesham claimed a good 2-1 victory at Actonians, with Gemma Fraser striking a stoppage-time winner.
Bedworth had a similar result at Swindon, where Kirsty Farnsworth and Shanice Walsh found the net for the Midlands side.
Liverpool Feds got both goals in the tie with Crewe, Jennifer Rogers and substitute Demi Devereaux on target in the last 18 minutes.
West Brom ran out 5-0 winners over Nettleham with Keeley Davies contributing a couple.
