FAWNL: Wolves Women take control at the top

Wolves beat Stoke City 5-0 to go top of the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division with games in hand.

Northern Premier Division

Brighouse Town P-P Burnley
Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-0 Stoke City (Att: 400)

Amber Hughes bagged a brace, Jade Cross, Beth Merrick and substitute Ellie Butler a goal each as Wolves went top of the table and with games in hand.

Burnley’s game was off as they were in Lancashire County Cup action, netting nine against North West League side  Fleetwood Town Wrens to set up a final clash with Fylde.

Southern Premier Division

Chichester & Selsey P-P Portsmouth (waterlogged pitch)
Crawley Wasps P-P Gillingham
London Bees 1-1 Milton Keynes Dons (Att: 43)

Cherrelle Albert came off the bench to earn a precious point for MK Dons with a stoppage-time equaliser, which took them just clear of the relegation zone but from more games than those around them. Jo Wilson had earlier give the mid-table Bees a first-half advantage.
