#FAWNL: Six-goal Fylde go top of Northern Premier

Fylde beat Middlesbrough 6-1 to take the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division top spot from Derby County.

Northern Division

Burnley 6-1 Sheffield FC
Fylde 6-1 Middlesbrough (Att: 100)
Huddersfield Town 2-1 Nottingham Forest (Att: 137)
Hull City 1-3 Loughborough Lightning

Fylde regained the leadership on goal-difference as Faye McCoy and Jodie Redgrave each struck twice after Middlesbrough had equalised. Burnley also won 6-1, going third in the table as Courtney Willis and Dominique Cooper contributed two each, after they had gone in level at the break with Sheffield FC. Laura Elford and Serena Fletcher scored first-half goals as Huddersfield saw off Nottingham Forest 2-1 to climb to fourth. Loughborough came from behind to take the points 3-1 at Hull.

Southern Division

Chichester & Selsey 0-5 London Bees (Att: 75)
Ipswich Town 9-0 Hounslow (Att: 332)
Milton Keynes Dons 0-1 Southampton FC (Att: 80)
Oxford United 2-0 Cardiff City LFC
Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Portsmouth (Att: 108)

Ipswich put nine past struggling Hounslow with four from Natasha Thomas. Southampton took the points 1-0 at MK Dons with a second-half Ella Pusey effort. A Beth Lumsden brace saw Oxford United beat Cardiff, Plymouth’s Beth Ireland had her volley cancelled out by Portsmouth’s Jazz Younger only for Zoe Cunningham to soon convert a decisive penalty. London Bees scored got all five goals after the break against Chichester & Selsey, Jo Wilson with a double.

Division 1 Midlands

Bedworth United 0-5 Leek Town (Att: 20)
Doncaster Rovers Belles 1-0 Wem Town (Att: 107)
Long Eaton United 3-2 Solihull Moors

A goal from Jasmine Saxton gave Doncaster the win over Wem Town to put them five points clear. Long Eaton edged Solihull Moors 3-2 to go second, while a first-half hat-trick from Katie Maya saw Leek on the way to a 5-0 result at Bedworth.

Division 1 North

Barnsley 0-3 Newcastle United (Att: 90)
Chorley 0-0 Chester le Street Town (Att: 105)
FC United of Manchester 2-2 Stockport County (Att: 117)

Newcastle came back from Barnsley 3-0 victors to cut Liverpool Feds’ lead at the top to two points. Chorley and Chester le Street played out a goalless draw, FC United and Stockport each scored just before the break in a 2-2 tie.

Division 1 South East

Enfield Town 1-2 AFC Wimbledon (Att: 60)
Kent Football United 2-1 Actonians
London Seaward 0-1 Queens Park Rangers (Att: 50)

Wimbledon’s Ashlee Hincks and Megan Stow were on target at Enfield to rise to fourth place, Mollie Kmita replying for the hosts. KFU clinched a first win of the season thanks to a 90th-minute goal against third-placed Actonians from 17-year-old Hannah Cleary. Demi Edwards scored on half-time as QPR won at London Seaward.

Division 1 South West

Chesham United 0-2 AFC Bournemouth (Att: 90)
Exeter City 0-1 Maidenhead United (Att: 132)

Lucy Cooper and Katie James were Bournemouth’s scorers at Chesham, to put the Cherries within two points of leaders Cheltenham Town. Maidenhead got the only goal at Exeter City through Simone O’Brien to go up to fourth.

League Cup 2nd Round

Southampton Women 0-4 Crawley Wasps

Naomi Cole converted a spot-kick before setting Emma Plewa up to make it 2-0, Tash Stephens got the third and Iesha Swaby added a solo effort for Crawley.
