Fylde have the chance to halve Derby County’s lead in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier, while title rivals play cup ties.
Fylde are six points short of Derby from a game less, while the Rams host Brighouse Town in the League Cup, Wolves go to Liverpool Feds in the same competition and Nottingham Forest travel to Bedworth United in the League Plate.
Southern Premier leaders Ipswich Town start the new year with a visit from Portsmouth, Oxford United are five points behind them as they head to London Bees, while Southampton FC sit third with games in hand but face a testing trip to fourth-placed Bridgwater United.
Doncaster Rovers Belles are four points clear at the top of Division 1 Midlands but from more games than most, as they start 2022 at home to Burton Albion. Sad news comes from Holwell Sports, who have withdrawn from the league with immediate effect.
It is with a heavy heart I regret to inform the footballing community that Holwell Sports Women FC have unfortunately had to fold. This is due to unforeseen circumstances. This has not been an easy decision for the club committee to make. Please support all involved (1/2) pic.twitter.com/8fvCP42aIz
