Chorley beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 to climb out of the Division 1 North relegation zone, at the expense of Stockport County. Megan Searson’s penalty put them in front and although Bolton quickly got a wind-assisted equaliser, the hosts also benefitted from the weather when Lisa Topping’s corner could only be punched into her own net by the Wanderers’ keeper.

Fifth-placed Durham Cestria moved five points clear of Newcastle United after defeating them away from home. Molly Holder followed up Jordan Atkinson’s parried shot for the only goal on 16 minutes. Holder later hit the bar with a free-kick and went in goal for stoppage-time after keeper Brooke Mackain took a blow to the head.
