#FAWNL: Cestrians and Sheffield FC win after fightbacks

Chester le Street Town won a local derby thriller, Sheffield FC took the points with late goals and Oxford United netted eleven in The FA Women’s National League.

FA WNL results – Tuesday 8 October

NORTHERN PREMIER – Hull City 1-2 Sheffield FC (Att: 68)

SOUTHERN PREMIER – Oxford United 11-0 Hounslow 

DIVISION 1 NORTH – Newcastle United 2-3 Chester le Street Town (Att: 103)

Sheffield FC won the Northern Premier basement battle at Hull City to put their first points on the board. A solo effort from Helen Lynskey had the Tigresses ahead until the last 15 minutes, then Keeley Goodwin and Charlie Griffen turned the game around.

Oxford United jumped three places to sixth in the Southern Premier after lashing winless Hounslow 11-0. There was a hat-trick each for Georgia Timms, Lauren Haynes and Emily Allen.

Chester le Street Town made the top half of the Division 1 North table after fighting back from two down to win 3-2 at bottom side Newcastle United. Imogen Longcake and Brianna Westrup scored for the hosts before Shannon Etherington, Laura Hockaday and Nichole Havery took the points for Town.
