A highlight of the new FA Women’s National League season was Doncaster Rovers Belles incredible late turnaround at Lincoln City.

Cheltenham made a winning debut as Izzy Cook netted twice past Plymouth, Portsmouth pulled off a fine result at Ipswich where Sophie Quirk got a couple.

Doncaster dramatically hit two very late goals to overturn Lincoln’s lead, in front of a bumper attendance at the LNER Stadium. Tilly Hallam-Potts got both goals for Sheffield FC against newcomers Stourbridge, debut defeat for Northampton too at home to Wem.

Norwich City’s Natasha Snelling hit a hat-trick at the Abbey Stadium, Actonians led 3-1 when their match was abandoned after 68 minutes due to a serious injury.
