Watford’s Flo Fyfe had a goal ruled out for offside, the Lionesses Amy Rodgers was denied by a fine stop from Georgie Ferguson. Around the hour mark, Adekite Fatuga-Dada set up Chiara Meola to net the only goal of the match.
Addicks hold leaders
Charlton Athletic held leaders Liverpool to a goalless draw with Eartha Cumings making a number of saves, pushing away Yana Daniels’ near-post flick and twice impressively denying Leanne Kiernan. The Addicks’ Emma Follis had a shot blocked by Jas Mathhews and Ella Rutherford fired over the hosts’ bar from inside the box, as Liverpool went eight points clear at the top.
Rooks goalless with Wildcats
Durham are up to third after a 0-0 result away at Lewes, whose Heidi Logan hit a shot which Naoisha McAloon could not hold but Sarah Robson was able t0 hack clear. The Wildcats went close on half time, as Beth Hepple’s cross was met with Sarah Wilson’s powerful header but Tatiana Saunders made the save.
Black Cats fight back to beat Blades
Sunderland came from behind to record a 4-1 win at Sheffield United and climb to ninth in the table. Lucy’s Watson opener was quickly cancelled out by Emily Scarr, who got the Black Cats’ second before the break. Maria Farrugia extended the advantage in the second half and Emma Kelly got a late fourth for the visitors.
