FA Women’s Championship leaders Sunderland drew at Crystal Palace, Liverpool were goalless with Bristol City.
Durham 2-0 Charlton Athletic (Att: 377)
Blackburn Rovers 3-1 Watford
Coventry United 0-3 Sheffield United
Crystal Palace 1-1 Sunderland
Lewes 1-0 London City Lionesses
Liverpool 0-0 Bristol City
Crystal Palace took the lead at Selhurst Park on 65 minutes through Millie Farrow, who had been denied by the post previously. Sunderland claimed a point to stay top, as seven minutes later Keira Ramshaw scored on the turn as Palace failed to clear. The hosts might have won it but Coral-Jade Haines also hit the woodwork.
Liverpool and Bristol City played out a goalless draw which ended ten-a-side. The hosts’ Niamh Fahey was shown a second yellow on 77 minutes, as was City’s Brooke Aspin in added time. The match saw Ashley Hodson become a Liverpool record-breaker with her 116th appearance.
Sheffield United scored all three goals of the game at Coventry coming before the break. Lucy Watson struck the first from distance, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk netted when connecting with Rhema Lord-Mears’ ball through the middle and got her second with Watson assisting for the second-placed Blades.
Kathryn Hill fired Durham into a third-minute lead against Charlton, following a corner. Beth Hepple doubled the lead early in the second half, after a penalty was awarded for handball.
Lewes edged London City Lionesses 1-0, with a seventh-minute Ini Umotong goal proving sufficient.
Blackburn Rovers were 3-1 winners over Watford, going ahead through Jade Richards, Natasha Fenton firing the second into the roof of the net and Annabel Richards’ 80th-minute free-kick sealing the points. Fatuga-Dada later pulled one back for the visitors.
