Sheffield United went up to seventh in the FA Women’s Championship with a 4-0 Saturday evening win at Watford.

The Blades took the lead after a dozen minutes, when a ball over the top released Courtney Sweetman-Kirk whose shot found the corner of the net.

Watford nearly levelled on 35 minutes but Fran Kitching tipped Amber-Keegan Stobbs’ effort from range onto the crossbar.

The visitors then struck twice before the break, with Rhema Lord-Mears finding the net from well outside the box and Lucy Watson’s shot going in off Ryah Vyse.

Six minutes into the second half the scoring was completed, when from a Watson corner kick Ellie Wilson headed home her first Blades goal.
