FA Women’s National League: Watford beat Southern Premier leaders

FA Women’s National League results featured a win for Watford over Southern leaders Portsmouth and a Stoke City comeback at Wolves.

Northern Premier Division

Brighouse Town 2-1 Liverpool Feds
Burnley 7-0 AFC Fylde
West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Boldmere St Michaels (Att: 146)
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Stoke City (Att: 394)

Burnley sank AFC Fylde 7-0 to go second, as Wolves let slip a 2-0 half-time lead over Stoke as Roisin Kivel scored a last-minute equaliser. Liverpool Feds had Abby Pope sent off after 62 minutes of their defeat at Brighouse, West Brom are three points from danger after defeating Boldmere.

Southern Premier Division

Gillingham 1-0 Crawley Wasps (Att: 210)
London Bees 1-5 Oxford United (Att: 64)
Watford 2-0 Portsmouth (Att: 228)

Amy Goddard scored twice on her full debut as Oxford United’s win at London Bees moved them within a point of leaders Portsmouth, who were defeated by third-placed Watford whose Anne Meiwald and Kalani Peart netted headers. Breon Grant made the breakthrough as Gillingham beat Crawley Wasps.

Division One Midlands

Long Eaton United 1-6 Leek Town
Wem Town 1-1 Solihull Moors (Att: 39)

Wem got a precious point against Solihull, Leek hit Long Eaton for six to move up to ninth.

Division One North

Stockport County 3-2 Leeds United (Att: 150)

Stockport came from 2-1 down at half-time to beat Leeds with goals from substitutes Rachel Davison and Ella Ritchie.

Division One South East

AFC Wimbledon 3-0 Ashford Town (Att: 75)
Cambridge United 1-1 Cambridge City (Att: 371)
Hashtag United 3-1 London Seaward (Att: 51)
Hounslow 0-7 Chesham United (Att: 35)
Queens Park Rangers 5-3 Actonians (Att: 89)

Leaders Hashtag United saw off London Seaward, AFC Wimbledon going second when defeating Ashford Town. QPR closed in on Actonians after getting the better of them aided by Kathryn Stanley’s treble, Cambridge City banked just a fourth point when drawing their derby at the Abbey Stadium.

Division One South West

AFC St Austell 0-12 Exeter City (Att: 78)
Moneyfields 0-0 AFC Bournemouth (Att: 83)

Exeter City lead by four points after netting a dozen at AFC St Austell, where there was a double hat-trick by Sarah Stacey. AFC Bournemouth are level on points with second-in-the-table Cardiff City Ladies after their goalless draw at Moneyfields.
