FA Women’s National League Match Day 2 preview

Match day two in the FA Women’s National League brings big home stages for Nottingham Forest and Plymouth Argyle among others.

Northern Premier Division

Derby County v Wolverhampton Wanderers (Mickleover Sports Club)
Hull City v Stoke City (Barton Town FC)
Nottingham Forest v Sporting Khalsa (The City Ground)
Rugby Borough v Liverpool Feds (Rugby Borough FC)
Stourbridge v Burnley (Stourport Swifts FC)
West Bromwich Albion v Halifax (Redditch Utd FC)

After big opening day wins, Rugby host Liverpool Feds and Burnley go to Stourbridge, while Hull and Halifax hope for better outcomes when home to Stoke and away at West Brom respectively. Derby and Wolves go head-to-head when chasing back-to-back victories, Nottingham Forest entertain Sporting Khalsa at The City Ground.

Southern Premier Division

Watford v Billericay Town (Wealdstone FC, 12pm)
Gwalia United v AFC Wimbledon (Newport Stadium)
Ipswich Town v Hashtag United (Felixstowe & Walton Utd FC)
Lewes v Exeter City (Lewes FC)
Milton Keynes Dons v Cheltenham Town (Stadium MK)

Former Championship side Lewes face initial leaders Exeter, Ipswich and Hashtag clash on the back of wins last Sunday. Watford play Billericay at noon, Gwalia take on promoted Wimbledon, MK Dons look to put a difficult start behind them against Cheltenham, while Plymouth and Oxford meet at Home Park after disappointing results first time out.

Division 1 Midlands

At least one winning start must end as Loughborough meet Notts County, Leafield, Peterborough and Sutton Coldfield seek two wins from two, Northampton and Worcester go after their first points.

Huddersfield are home to Stockport with them both having three points on the board, Chorley, Durham Cestria and Middlesbrough also in pursuit of second consecutive wins. Fylde face Leeds and Cheadle’s home debut in the league sees York as the visitors.

Actonians against Chatham brings together two of last week’s winners, the other three – London Seaward, Norwich City and Real Bedford – also looking to double their points tally. Sudbury seek to get off the mark when hosting QPR, Ashford Town take on Chesham with both currently on zero points.

Abingdon versus Moneyfields is the division’s only meeting of teams with three points already in the bag, AFC Bournemouth and Swindon being the others to have a successful big kick-off. Portishead play Keynsham, while there will be first points gained as Maidenhead welcome Bridgwater.
