Everton Women’s Netherlands international Katja Snoeijs has extended her stay with the club by signing a two-year contract.

The 27-year-old has finished as Everton’s leading goalscorer in both her seasons with the Toffees.

She told evertontv: “It’s always nice to get clarity of your next step in your career and I’m really happy for that.

“I’ve been here for two seasons, but I feel there’s still so much I can give to the team and to the club.

“Finishing the season the way we did as a group, and also my own individual performances, I think gives us a lot of confidence to build on in pre-season and for next season, too.”

Manager Brian Sorensen told evertonfc.com: “First of all, Katja is a wonderful person to work with. She is a great teammate, and you can always count on her to give maximum effort. She’s an excellent football player.

“This season has been up and down for us as a team but, in terms of her performances, Katja has been very consistent. I know she wants to score more goals and I’m sure that’s going to come when we as a team get better.

“She is very talented, can beat players and get into good situations to score.”
