Everton have signed Denmark international forward Rikke Madsen from North Carolina Courage on an 18-month deal.
The 26-year-old is now one of six Denmark internationals at the club, alongside Danish boss Brian Sorensen.
She has over 20 caps for her country and as well as playing in the NWSL, has had spells with Vålerenga, Madrid CFF and Melbourne Victory.
Madsen told evertontv: “I’ve been eager to get to this club and to play in this league. I cannot wait to get started.
“I want to develop and become the best player I can be. I can’t wait to play in the Women’s Super League. I’ve heard so many good things about it.
“Some of my strengths is my physicality and running fast. It’s going to be fun to put that to good use here.”
Sorensen told evertonfc.com: “I’ve known Rikke for a long time and she’s been on our radar for a while so it’s good to get a deal finalised.
“She’s a very hardworking winger or centre forward, has pace and power, and she’s different in terms of what we have offensively.
“She stretches the defence, is really good in the press and arguably one of her best qualities is off the ball.”
