Everton vs Manchester United match information
- ⚽️ Women’s Super League Matchday 6: Everton vs Manchester United
- 🏟️ Hill Dickinson Stadium
- ⏱️ Sunday, October 12th – 12pm BST (Sky Sports Premier League)
Why is Everton vs Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium?
The clash will take place at Everton’s new ground Hill Dickinson Stadium, despite the home stadium for the women’s side being Goodison Park.
However, WSL rules state that one match per season must be played at the club’s nominated main stadium.
So even though Everton Women call Goodison Park their home ground, the official main stadium for the club is the new Hill Dickinson Stadium where the men’s side play.
Should Everton beat Manchester United, the women’s side will have won a game at Hill Dickinson Stadium before they have done so at Goodison Park.
The men’s side are not playing this weekend as the international break for them starts a week before it does for the women’s team.
Everton vs Manchester United preview
Everton Women are desperate to return to winning ways after failing to win their last four games.
The Toffees got off to a magnificent start at the home of their rivals Liverpool, with summer signing Ornella Vignola scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory.
Since then, the only point they have picked up was in a 1-1 draw against Leicester City. That is because they have suffered defeats to Tottenham, London City Lionesses and Brighton.
Having made nine signings over the summer window, head coach Brian Sorensen says his side are still ‘trying to find their feet’ this season.
Life does not get much easier for the Toffees with a difficult fixture at Manchester United on Sunday.
The Red Devils are yet to lose in the WSL this season and ended Chelsea’s 100 per cent record last time around.
However, the Toffees will be the fresher of the two sides on Sunday, after United beat Valerenga 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Maya Le Tissier has been a star for the Red Devils, with Marc Skinner suggesting his defender could become an ‘England stalwart’ ahead of the upcoming international break.

Everton vs Manchester United team news
Everton boss Brian Sorensen confirmed that captain Megan Finnigan will be out until the new year after suffering an ACL injury.
It is a major blow for the Toffees, who will also be without Katja Snoeijs on Sunday.
Snoeijs will be out until after the upcoming international break due to a hamstring injury.
There is some good news for Everton with Kelly Gago set to return after her recent absence from the squad.
Bizet Donnum and Leah Galton could both return to the matchday squad for Manchester United.
The only player who is a definite absentee for the Red Devils is Millie Turner who is still recovering from a knee injury.
Marc Skinner could look to freshen things up after playing midweek, so the likes of Gabby George and Fridolina Rolfo could feature.
Predicted lineups
Everton: Ramsey; Fernandez, Holmgaard, Stenevik, Kitagawa; Mace, Van Gool; Robinson, Hayashi, Momiki; Vignola
Manchester United: Tullis Joyce; Riviere, Le Tissier, Janssen, George; Olme, Miyazawa; Park, Toone, Rolfo; Terland
Everton vs Manchester United prediction
Manchester United are the form side out of the two but Everton will be the fresher of the two sides going into the fixture.
There are some concerns over whether United will be able to maintain form across the Women’s Super League and Champions League due to the size of their squad.
Carla Ward recently said that Manchester United have ‘let the women’s team down’.
United though should have enough to put away an Everton side who have struggled in the WSL so far this term.
Prediction: Everton 1-2 Manchester United
