England Women’s U-19s had to settle for a 3-3 draw against the Netherlands at the Algarve Tournament despite having gone 3-1 up.

It was the last fixture for the Young Lionesses in Portugal, having earlier drawn 2-2 with the hosts and beaten Sweden 5-1.

Michelle Agyemang had England ahead just two minutes in, slotting the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs after being sent clear by Maddy Earl.

Bo van Egmond equalised close to half-time but the lead was restored three minutes after the restart, Ashanti Akpan’s header from Lexi Potter’s corner hit the crossbar and Freya Godfrey was there to score the rebound.

It was then 3-1 five minutes later when another Potter corner led to a scramble in the box and Agyemang was there to score her second of the game.

However, Danique Tolhoek halved the deficit and Lotte Keukelaar scored a late leveller.
