England Women’s U-17s thrash Sweden to reach semi-finals

England ran out 5-1 winners over hosts Sweden at the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship as Isabella Fisher hit a nine-minute hat-trick.

Jane Oboavwoduo volleyed England ahead early on after good work by Lola Brown but Felicia Schroder swiftly headed the Swedes level.

Schroder then struck the the bar, bef0re Omotara Junaid restored England’s lead from distance and Fisher made it 3-1 after Brown and Erica Parkinson combined.

Fisher went on to score two more goals and complete her treble before half time, while Laila Harbert and Eva Gray were denied in the second half by Swedish keeper Saga Andersson.

England face a group decider against France at 2.30pm BST on Saturday 11 May, with the match live on BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport website and app, as well as uefa.tv
