England Women U-23s beat France with goal from debutant

England Women U-23s defeated France by the only goal of the game in front on 2,809 fans at Stevenage on Tuesday evening.

France’s Jade Rastocle saw her header from a corner hit the post but it was the the Young Lionesses who found the back of the net 10 minutes from half time.

Missy Bo Kearns whipped in a cross and Isobel Goodwin’s header was met by goalkeeper Marie Petiteau but the debutant was able to run the rebound over the line.

Isobel Goodwin hit the post five minutes into the second half, with Missy Goodwin’s follow-up shot saved by the keeper.

Katie Robinson created chances but Olivia McLaughlin was denied by Petiteau and Michelle Agyemang’s strike was cleared off the line.
