England Set For Top Eight Finish At #HWC2017

The penultimate day at the Homeless World Cup in Oslo has the quarter-finals and semi-finals, with England through to the most senior of the three competitions.

Mexico won all five games in Group A, with England finishing third just goal difference behind France, against whom they went down 4-3 yesterday. Scotland were last after defeats by India (5-3) and Mexico (10-2).

Chile claimed maximum points in Group B after two big wins on Sunday, with Kenya runners-up and Republic of Ireland fifth following losses to Egypt (4-2) and Kenya (5-0).

The Netherlands thrashed Belgium 9-2 to clinch Group C ahead of Northern Ireland.

Hungary made it three straight Group D victories to end clear of Sweden, while Wales were ahead of bottom of the table USA. The Welsh ended with a 5-3 loss to the Swedes, the Americans defeated 4-3 by the Hungarians.

England get to play for the senior trophy, starting a last eight tie against Kenya, Scotland first face Hungary in the Fretex Plate which also has an all-Irish clash, while Wales play Belgium and USA for the Cobana Bowl.
