The opening match of the Women’s 3 Nation Tournament in Brussels saw the Netherlands beat Belgium 6-1.

Lieke Martens had been denied by the crossbar early on, before Vivianne Miedema struck in the 33rd minute.

Miedema was also to hit the bar but 9 minutes after the restart, Jill Roord doubled the lead.

Marie Minnaert then halved the deficit for the hosts, only for Stefanie van der Gragt to swiftly restore the two-goal cushion with a header.

Martens made it 4-1, Daniëlle van de Donk netted with a cheeky backheel and Renate Jansen came off the bench to complete the scoring late on.

On Sunday, Germany play Belgium in Aachen, before facing the Dutch at Venlo on Wednesday.
