Derby County Women win in front of over 6,000 at City Ground

More than 6,000 were at the City Ground where Derby County beat Nottingham Forest in the FA Women’s National League.

It was only the Rams’ second win of the league season, as Yasmin Mosby and Eleanor Ashton scored in the opening ten minutes. Forest’s Holly Manders replied from the penalty spot before the break.

MK Dons ended Hashtag United’s perfect start with a 2-1 win, allowing Rugby Borough to move top on goal-difference. Portsmouth’s seven goals against Billericay were just enough to leapfrog them in the table. Zoe Barratt grabbed a late decider for Oxford United against her former team Ipswich. Taya Pomfret put away a stoppage-time winner for Plymouth, her side having trailed at the break.

Top of the table Bournemouth took the points 3-1 at Abingdon United, Exeter City went second with a 6-2 success at Maidenhead, Keynsham slipping to third after shipping eight goals at Moneyfields. Selsey’s Lauren Kelly-Stoner was sent off just six minutes in of a six-goal defeat at Torquay.
