Cliftonville maintained their 100 percent winning start to the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Sion Swifts.

Crusaders Strikers 1-0 Linfield

Marissa Callaghan’s early goal was enough to separate the sides in a competitive match which made it five wins from five for John McGrady’s Cliftonville side – who lead the way by five points at the top.

Crusaders Strikers secured a notable win at home to Linfield thanks to Amy McGivern’s strike just before the half-hour mark.

The result was enough to draw the Strikers level on points with the Blues in the standings – each have seven points after five rounds of action.

Glentoran secured their first league victory in three attempts with an emphatic 8-2 triumph at Derry City, as Rachel Rogan hit a hat-trick.

Joely Andrews, Kerry Beattie, Kelly Bailie, Alison McMaster and Lauren Wade were all also on target for Billy Clarke’s side.

Alison McGonagle and Paul McGrory both scored consolation goals for the Candystripes, in an action-packed match full of attacking football and high-quality goals.
