Cwmbran And PILCS Playing For Third Place

Sunday May 1st
WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE

Aberystwyth Town 0-3 Port Talbot Town
Cyncoed 0-2 Swansea City
Newcastle Emlyn 1-5 Cwmbran Celtic
PILCS 7-1 MBi Llandudno
Rhyl & Prestatyn 3-7 Cardiff City FC

Rhyl & Prestatyn managed three goals against champions Cardiff City FC but the 7-3 defeat from their final game left them in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Aberystwyth Town’s 3-0 home loss to Port Talbot sees them 8 goals better off than Rhyl with one game to come, at home to Cardiff City FC on Wednesday. Sian Scannell set the visitors on their way with a spectacular effort after just 10 minutes.

Runners-up and league cup winners, Swansea City, scored both goals in the match at Cyncoed but the Cardiff-based side had done enough to secure another season in the Welsh Premier.

PILCS and Cwmbran are still both pushing for third place, with the pair meeting in Pontypool this Wednesday.

PILCS thrashed MBi Llandudno 7-1 and Celtic sunk winless Newcastle Emlyn 5-1, with Chloe Chivers bagging a brace for Cwmbran, Lois Regan and Shaunna Jenkins adding one each, plus a header from Fiona Anthony.
