Crusaders Strikers beat Linfield after extra-time in the County Antrim Women’s Challenge Cup Preliminary Round at Seaview on Friday evening.

Crusaders took the lead with a goal by Emily Wilson but Linfield put the pressure on and equalised with a great goal by Katie Dickson.

Both teams had chances in the second half but failed to take them, so it ended 1-1 at full time and went into extra-time of ten minutes each way.

No goals were scored in the first period but in the second part of extra-time, Crusaders took a 3-1 lead with goals from Amy McGivern and Julie Nelson.

With a few minutes to go, Linfield got one back through Becka McKenna but the Strikers ran out 3-2 winners to book a 1st Round tie at Ballymoney United on Friday 16 July.
