Friday fixtures in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership brought a narrow win for Crusaders Strikers and a double-figure victory for Glentoran.

Third-placed Crusaders Strikers got the better of Sion Swifts in fifth, Amy McGivern’s goal just before the hour mark being the difference between the two on the night.

Glentoran put 11 goals past visitors Ballymena United in a top versus bottom clash, moving the Glens nine points clear at the top but from two more games than nearest title-rivals Cliftonville.

Joely Andrews struck in the first minute and later added a second, there was also a doble from Emily Wilson, hat-trick by Kerry Beattie that included a penalty, while Demi Vance, Chloe McCarron and Rachel Rogan contributed one a piece.
