Crewe Alexandra won the Cheshire FA Cup for the third successive season, defeating Tranmere Rovers 2-0 on Friday evening at Cammell Laird FC.
Megan Booth, Amanda Fallon and Michelle Saunders all went close for the favourites, while Katie Nuttall and a save from Hannah Holloway kept the North West League leaders at bay in the first half hour.
Crewe took the lead five minutes before the break when a Lauren Derry corner was cleared only as far as Fallon, who fired her shot low past the keeper at her near post.
Laura Garner gave Crewe a two-goal cushion with 25 minutes left, picking up the ball on the edge of the area she fired into the top corner.
Tranmere tried to get back into the game and beat the offside trap only to be denied by Holloway, before glancing a header just wide of the far post.
