Just a solitary FA WPL match survived the ice, rain, snow and traffic chaos, Chorley returning from Crewe Alexandra with a 4-2 victory in Northern Division 1.
Crewe were ahead at half time thanks to an 18th-minute effort, as Loren Cooper’s ball over the defence was met by Megan Booth who lobbed the keeper.
The visitors equalised early in the second half through Rachel Wood, before Michelle Saunders restored Alex’s lead on 65 minutes, with a curling effort into the far corner.
Chorley levelled again through Lisa Topping with a dozen minutes left and two further goals saw the points go back to Lancashire.
Madeline Cullin netted a penalty and then Vicky Coope also got on the scoresheet to make sure of the win.
The win lifted Chorley up two places to seventh and within four points of Crewe, over whom they have a game in hand.
