Chile and China both won play-offs to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics women’s football tournament.
China had a 2-1 advantage over South Korea going into their home leg of the Asian Olympic qualifying play-off but were 2-0 down on the day to goals by Kang Chae-rim and Choe Yu-ri.
However, Wang Shuang levelled to force extra-time and then later grabbed the decider.
Chile also began their CAF – CONMEBOL play off against Cameroon with a 2-1 lead from a few days ago in Turkey, returning there to play out a goalless draw.
Their aggregate victory means a first ever Olympic tournament appearance for the Chilean women’s team.
Tuesday’s qualifiers join Australia, Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, USA and Zambia in Tokyo, with the draw set for 9am on 21 April, live on the FIFA YouTube channel.
