Charlton Athletic have signed 22-year-old Northern Ireland international defender Rebecca McKenna on a one-year deal.

Joining from Lewes, she previously played for Linfield over four seasons, winning three straight NIFL Premiership titles.

Making the switch to Lewes in 2021, she clocked up 42 appearances and played in every game last season.

McKenna – who played for Northern Ireland at WEURO2022 – told charltonafc.com: “As soon as I spoke to Karen [Hills], it just felt right. I’ve only been here a short space of time but I’ve loved every minute of it.”

“I’m going to give everything for the team and hopefully I can contribute.”
