Charlton Athletic have completed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Sian Rogers on a one-year deal after last season’s loan from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old featuring in all 22 league games for the Addicks, recording seven clean sheets.

Rogers told cafc.co.uk: “Obviously when it came about that Karen [Hills] wanted me to stay it was something that I really did consider after my loan spell. I really did enjoy it here and it played a massive part in me coming back to the club, and I am happy to be back!”

Karen Hills added: “I’m happy to have Sian with us for next season on a permanent deal. Sian brings fantastic leadership qualities as well as an outstanding goalkeeper. Her first season with us was an opportunity for her to gain good playing minutes under her belt and enjoy the game again.

So, her decision to stay with us is pleasing as we were able to make that happen for her. I’m looking forward to seeing Sian excel this season as she now feels at home with us at Charlton.”
