Celtic Women stay top ahead of final day in SWPL

Celtic go into the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League’s final day top of the table and well ahead of Rangers on goal-difference.

Hearts 1-3 Celtic
Hibernian 2-3 Rangers
Partick Thistle 0-2 Glasgow City
Aberdeen 1-1 Dundee United
Motherwell 4-2 Hamilton Academical

Natasha Flint scored twice and Amy Gallacher once as Celtic went in three up at half-time away to Hearts. Lizzie Waldie pulled a late goal back but the Hoops have an advantage of 16 in goal-difference over Rangers, who conceded twice at Hibernian after also going 3-0 up. Kirsty Howat hit a hat-trick, with Michaela McAlonie and Jorian Baucom replying.

Carlee Giamona bagged a second-half brace as Glasgow City won 2-0 at Partick Thistle, Motherwell moved two points ahead of Aberdeen in the battle for seventh spot, as Hamilton slipped to the bottom.

Dundee United got off the bottom with a good point at Aberdeen, Morgan Steedman put them ahead but Eva Thomson quickly levelled for the Dons.

Hamilton face the final round of fixtures in the automatic relegation spot by a point, after twice letting the lead slip at Motherwell. Goals from Melissa Reid and Chloe Muir were cancelled out each time by Morgan Cross, before Amy Anderson and Joanne Addie netted for the hosts.
